All photographs contained in this Photo Gallery have been digitized from the TV Pool broadcast of the event which was televised throughout Thailand as well as internationally. In the afternoon of June 10th, Their Majesties and members of the royal family went to the Chakri Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace where the royal rites took place. To commemorate this auspicious occasion, His Majesty conferred higher ecclesiastical ranks> to senior monks who then chanted blessings. His Majesty presided over the ritual of consecrating the five major pieces of royal regalia and the Nine-tiered White Umbrella of State. An ancient rite of purification by passing lighted tapers was performed. Members of the Royal Family, high ranking officials and dignitaries stood in a circle surrounding Their Majesties and passed three sets of tapers in lenticular holders thrice around the circle. The ritual ended after His Majesty sprinkled lustral water over the five major pieces of royal regalia.
